Rather than "waste" CPU time (and coding time) trying to detect what attitude(?) the camera is at, would it be better to use sensors for that purpose? (I'm thinking of the G-Sensors available in all current smartphones, specifically the "Spirit-level" app on my HTC Touch Pro2)

Sorry to hijack this thread... @BasicCoder2, there's a DLL you could try (http://sol.gfxile.net/code.html) called ESCAPI, which interfaces with webcams (and other devices). Tried it quickly with the included PureBasic example and works a treat. I'm sure you could easily knock up an FreeBasic example...

Greetings TeslaCoil, I too, wish you all the best in your endeavours. I coded the self aware "brain bit" back in the 80s on a BBC computer but the computing power just wasn't there for it to operate in real time There seem to be many BBC Micro emulators available on the Net. Would your software run ...

Itchin to try this real soon.

Lotus Notes C API has some real funky stuff in it's C headers, would like to see what it makes of the 113 header files.

Thanks to TJF for this, and thanks to AGS for contributions.
