Re: ISR + coroutines = Multitasking in DOS

A couple of years ago I also figured a way to do actual TSR programs with FreeBasic ( https://freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26883 ), although I don't recommend it to anyone, a minimal mistake would result in a program that works fine 99 times and crashes the pc on the 100th time, so it...

Re: Squares

Please, let's avoid clichés about autism. People with autism have emotions like everyone else, what they lack is some communication skills. If you say "Albert cannot do that - he has a fixation.", well, I fear this is not the right place for him, then. This forum is not for everyone, there...

Re: Squares

How'd you guys know i had Autism?? Likely you told them... when they mention it, I checked on the forum, you wrote it years ago https://freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=142705#p142705 I was born with Autism and then in my early 20's developed schizophrenia on top of it.. Sorry to hear, I didn't ...

Re: Squares

@deltarho[1859] I fear you have no idea of how this thread developed. Albert received help, and explanations, from several other members, for years . And he repaid that help by not believing the answers he got, and asking the same questions again, and again. I, Richard, Dodicat and CoderJeff answere...

Re: Squares

@Dodicat Still working on compression, I'm up to like formula 10,000.... and nothing good yet... And don't you think, with that, that persevering into that would just be pure insanity? What else do you need to persuade you that you cannot do that? Also, to Richard and dodicat: perhaps you should st...

Re: fbgfx versus opengl graphics

- I think major design flaw is that SwapBuffers(hdc) in the main update loop is incorrect. If the main update loop just arbitrarily swaps buffers then there is no control of when drawing starts / stops / swaps. The only thing that make sense to me is some kind of copy-bufer-to-buffer if it's going ...

I assume you ran in the same problems that forced me to leave the auto mode so limited?

Re: Kill and Recycle Bin

Files are always deleted, since KILL calls the OS API to delete files, while the recycle bin is managed by the graphic shell (explorer.exe, or whatever is in the newer versions, that is normally not accessed by FreeBasic

Re: Extremely slow screen handling

Possible duplicate of this: https://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26204

Try removing the TAB(10) from your code, and see if there is any improvement. It seems that the TAB instructions causes some severe slow down on some linux terminals

Re: Squares

It would never work: viruses are not transmitted by exhaled air (not even airborne viruses), they are transmitted by the respiratory droplets (also called Flügge's droplets). They can be released by sneezing, by coughing, by talking, and sometimes by just breathing. That is also the reason why masks...

Sincerely, at this point I think he should be banned. He brings zero contribute to the forum, and he clearly hasn't learned anything from any answer he received from other users. We are running in circles, and it seems to go on since ten years! At this point, either he is trolling (and then he would...

Re: Squares

Albert, do you accept a bet?

Something like: if your formula works, I'll stop replying to you, forever. If your formula can't be decompressed, you will stop posting anything about compression, forever. Deal?

Re: Squares

Are you serious? Are you suggesting that developers of a compression software would deliberately hijack their own software so it won't work? Are you suggesting that it will steal your code, although you admitted that your code never worked? (so why anyone would want it?) Are you suggesting that, des...

Re: Squares

Albert. Stop. Please, STOP. We tried to explain it in every possible way that it can't work. There is a very well written wikipedia article here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lossless_compression#Limitations that explains why it can't work. You don't believe it? Fine. Keep trying, if you want. But p...
