@MystikShadows: The recent thread has led to the topic being brought up, but it wouldn't have been a good place to discuss it rationally. I understand that Counting_Pine. No problem there. :-) As users of FreeBASIC, what are you guys' understanding of lang fblite? My understanding of fblite is that...

Possible Solution to threads like the one that was started.

I tried to post this but the thread got locked before I could hit Submit it seems. But I think perhaps one thing can be learned from that whole thread is that the way FB is introduced to the outside world may be misleading (not misleading as in not true, just misleading as in not in the way that is ...

This might not be relevent. But in Javascript for examples, to access a specific frame I would need to change: dhGetValue("%s", @CONTEUDO, ieApp2, ".document.frames.item(1).document.body.outerText") to dhGetValue("%s", @CONTEUDO, ieApp2, ".docum...

HI xbgtc, I just tried it and well so far it looks good, good intro screen. I don't know if it's my PC specifically (a dell lattitdu laptop) but when I started the game, the intro screen is shifted 1/2 to the left (hence i could only see the right side of the intro screen. After that, it started to ...

Any known limits to the number of screen buffers in SCREEN?

I'm asking because I get a situation that seems weird to me. And I wanna make sure that it's not a bug in the compiler or an error on my part ;-). Consider the following SCREEN statement: SCREEN 19, 32, 16, 1 \ I am assuming that this will give me a screen of 800x600 with 32 bit color depth, 16 page...

Yes, it does...and I also tried the brute force approach.

CLOSE Doesn't close.

Exit the program doesn't close

CLOSE #1 doesn't close it

And end the program doesn't close either.

CLOSE #1 or CLOSE and
END

and CLOSE or Close #1 and
SYSTEM

nothing closes the port.

First official FB-DOS Comm Bug Report ;-).

First off, great work...in essence comm works as expected. :-). Here's the situation...I have a loop that gets characters into a string variable and that string gets sent to com1 when Enter is pressed. Now if I type a sentence and hit Enter, it gets sent without a problem. if I exit the program I ha...

Re: reply to pritchard

I have not used one of these forums before, I hope this entry is attached to the original posting as a Reply. Thanks for the warning about -lang deprecated. One of the hardest lessons to learn in maintaining legacy COBOL code is that every simple code change has a hidden reason the last guy did not...

I'm going to give the comic the benefit of the doubt, and assume the point of it isn't to make fun of anyone, but even so, I think people could take offense and infer an attack on them. I'd advise against doing any more of them, and I think we should at least be aiming for a position of mutual resp...
