Re: How to write a unicode string to a unicode text file?

Thank you very much, jj2007, for the confirmation that the simplified code is working fine.

I discovered now where the problem was: My substring was beginning at a wrong place......one place to the left or to the right solves my problem. So stupid...

Re: How to write a unicode string to a unicode text file?

Thank you, jj2007! My code is more complex as described above. But this is maybe a simple example which could show the problem: ' @@@@@@@@@@@@ ' DEPENDENCIES ' @@@@@@@@@@@@ #Define unicode ' This 3 lines required for LoadFile(), SaveFile(), ... #Include once "windows.bi" #Include once &quo...

How to write a unicode string to a unicode text file?

Again a unicode problem: I have a string Strg which is the result of reading a unicode encoded text file. For reading the LoadFile() function is used. Dim As String Strg Strg = LoadFile(appp) I need this Strg for other purposes in this form, which is working fine, but I also have a substring of this...

Re: How to create a folder with unicode characters in its name

deltarho[1859]: Sorry, I am unable at the moment to follow this discussion... SaveFile() (and the structure of my code): #Define unicode #Include once "windows.bi" #Include once "win/shellapi.bi" ' ================================================== Declare Sub SaveFile(file As Ws...

Re: How to create a folder with unicode characters in its name

@dodicat: Oh, fine! (But exe size or speed would be the same, probably?) Another subsequent question (not directly associated to the above one): SaveFile() applied immediately after creating a folder fails, there seems to be a time problem. How to wait in FB until the new folder is available? (It to...

Re: Another program icon via command line

@jj2007: AutoHotkey is an interpreter, and compiling an AHK script is not a real compiling, the interpreter and the script are joined to one file. (My whole adventure here in FB is associated to the fact that a small tool I need would be 400 kB or so.) But AHK is an extremely potent script language,...

Re: How to create a folder with unicode characters in its name

My God, how confused I am (or should I say stupid?), everything already solved here (Josep Roca): #Define unicode #Include once "windows.bi" #Include once "win/shellapi.bi" Dim As Wstring * 4 dq = wchr(34) Dim As Wstring * 100 folder = "aFolder ž\" folder = dq & fo...

How to create a folder with unicode characters in its name

Hopefully my last problem of this kind:

I know how to read from and to write to files with unicode characters in their names, etc.

But how to create a folder with such a name? MkDir() would work, of course.

Re: Another program icon via command line

@jj2007:
https://autohotkey.com/download
"Download AutoHotkey Installer"
"Custom Installation" > you can select "Install script compiler".
It is all portable (no installation)!

Re: FB-compiled executable with a unicode name

What a joy! It takes a load off my mind. Has already been solved here by one of you! Dim As Wstring * 10000 cmdl = *GetCommandLineW() Dim As Long narg Dim As Wstring Ptr Ptr argl = Cast(Wstring ptr ptr, CommandLineToArgvW(cmdl, @narg)) Dim As Wstring * 500 appn = *argl[0] appn = Mid(appn, InStrRev(...

Re: Another program icon via command line

@dodicat: I have no possibility to create a 128 x 128 icon at the moment (IcoFX doesn't support this size), so I can't test it. As you said, it doesn't work with other sizes. But, as I already said, I am using now the AHK solution, which will be good enogh for the moment (for a Proof-of-the-Concept ...

Re: Another program icon via command line

@grindstone:
Inherit? Not in an automatic way, if that's what you mean.
I am giving the Launcher the icon. Actually, I give it to both––to the Launcher and to the exe which is to be started.

FB-compiled executable with a unicode name

I apologize a lot, I am quite confused: Has there already been a solution for this in your tips? MyApp.exe is a FB-compiled file. In the code of the file are the following three lines which extract the name of the program ('MyApp'): Dim As Wstring * 500 appn = Command(0) appn = Mid(appn, InStrRev(ap...
