Yes, Illegal Function Call is the more correct behavior here, IMO. Also, I see you used 0 to ..., maybe you should defer that and make a note in TODO about how we need to convert all those data chunks in the code to use that syntax. (Just for consistency's sake) Thoughts?

If you're a novice with Linux (or just like to think less ;)), then you might try installing the standalone Linux build.

Also, that makes me feel dumb because this topic...

Well, the 'right' way is to use something like MinGW/MSYS, like you can read about at http://www.freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php ... NWin32MSYS

I like Winter Solstice much better... all this one means is that the cold, dark, neverending winter is on its way back =p. hehe. But good to see the gears still turning, regardless.

Cheers!

One of the big problems with these things seems to be the balance between fragmentation (X platform has this feature but Y platform doesn't) and Lowest Common Denominator (X and Y only *both* support weak functionality, therefore our solution is weak in this area). It would be cool for someone to po...

This question has been asked many times. So many that we should maybe think about stickying a post about it. (Whatcha guys think?) Basically the big reasons you'll find for it being conspicuously absent are: * It doesn't necessarily belong in the language. It should probably be a support library, in...

@MichaelW: This is the one that makes most sense to me... especially because we do consider legacy. It's safer to do this anyway:

Code: Select all

var t = msTimer() '' No, not Microsoft

IMO.

FreeBASIC rider!!!

http://therealcha0s.net/tmp/fb-rider.png So, there's a little story behind this image. I was looking through my files after about a million shuffles between different machines and disks, and I came across this image. I made this for a placeholder admin avatar when I was working on building fb.net i...
