Re: Ubound crash?

"ub is OK, so is item."

Yes, but how is 'item' declared and, as mentioned, how is it defined?

ub is OK. How is 'item' declared? > "And why do weird errors always happen when you think you have completed a piece of code and plan to call it a day?" That is easily answered - it is Finagle's Law, which is Murpyy's Law with an addendum: Anything that can go wrong will, and at the worst ...

Re: WinFBE Editor and FreeBASIC Compiler (All-in-One Package) (V2.1.4 April 26, 2020)

Sure would be good if WinFBE had an extensive help manual that covered things like User Tools, wouldn't it? Lol :) someday...someday... I find writing Help files quite daunting. It is so easy to miss something out which is important. I have lost count on the number of times a Help file displays a f...

Re: WinFBE Editor and FreeBASIC Compiler (All-in-One Package) (V2.1.4 April 26, 2020)

Thanks, Paul. If anyone downloads WinFBE for the first time then they will find that no User Tools have been installed and won't even know where they are. If you find them then you may think that you have to use 'Tools>User Tools...' in WinFBE's menu to install them - you don't. If you navigate to W...

Re: drWinFBE_Tools

The opening link now includes references to the last two posts in an updated Help file. I reckon that is me done, for a while at least, with regard WinFBE user tools - to be honest I am fresh out of new ideas. Paul has gone quiet - we haven't had an update in seven days. http://deltarho.org.uk/Downl...

Re: Begging bowl time for José Roca <smile>

Me too, but according David's post he wanted to end the application inconditionally if the editor wasn't running. What happened there was if whether WinFBE was running or not got sorted my next issue was to remove the PostQuitMessage(0) because it was a stop gap and I did not want to have two issue...

Re: Begging bowl time for José Roca <smile>

Thanks, Jochen.

WinID has just told me that WinFBE uses "WinFBE_Class" as its class name. Nice one!

Re: drWinFBE_Tools

Both SetCompilerPathsII and SetCompilerSwitchesII have been updated. If they are running when WinFBE closes then they will close as well. The opening link now includes the new versions. Thanks to Josep Roca and jj2007 who both threw me a lifebuoy whilst I was sinking fast. http://deltarho.org.uk/Dow...

Re: Begging bowl time for José Roca <smile>

Wow! I looked at FindWindow but I didn't know what lpClassName was. Thanks, José I was going to ask about PostQuitMessage because I was not happy with what I did there. in case there is something to save before closing. I actually trap SC_CLOSE and check if the window has been moved and if it has th...

Begging bowl time for José Roca <smile>

@Josep Roca Hi, José, I am experiencing one of my hair pulling out periods again and hoping you can help me out. I am using this Function Function InstanceTest() As Long Dim hMutex As Handle Dim ThisApp As Wstring * Max_Path Dim LastError As Long ThisApp = "WinFBE64-2.1.3" ' tried "Wi...

Re: WinFBE Editor and FreeBASIC Compiler (All-in-One Package) (V2.1.3 April 18, 2020)

So now you can just unzip the new version over the old one and still keep all settings as before. That may be so but anyone downloading WinFBE for the first time will have an empty [UserTools] section in WinFBE.ini and may find it a struggle to 'install' the available user tools; if they knew where...

Re: drWinFBE_Tools

There is something which I forgot to mention in the new Help file. I will correct the omission but in the meantime ... If we append to the filename of SetCompilerPathsII.exe and SetCompilerSwitchesII.exe either 'l' or 'L' and the corresponding entries in the [UserTools] section of WinFBE.ini in the ...

Re: drWinFBE_Tools

I'll be sure to put these most up to date versions in the next WinFBE Suite update. The latest versions of WinFBE have no User Tools installed and there is nothing in 'WinFBE Editor Help' mentioning tools. So, anyone who comes to WinFBE for the first time would not know where tools exist and even i...

Re: WinFBE Editor and FreeBASIC Compiler (All-in-One Package) (V2.1.3 April 18, 2020)

Paul, I updated to WinFBE 2.1.3 which was published quickly after 2.1.2. I was not looking forward to 'installing' six user tools again. So I made cup of tea and did some thinking. When we add a tool to the 'User Tools' form and click OK then the [UserTools] section in WinFBE.ini is written to accor...
