Re: The help file in fbide

if the CHM file is on a net drive, you have to copy it to a local one. Maybe adjust the %path% to it in your IDE, don´t know.
A well known issue in WIN/IE since : ?

Good Luck!

Re: Weird keypress bug in GFX?

Hi datwill310, obviously you try to assign certain keystrokes to actions in your game. As a general driver cannot "know" all KB layouts (and the corresponding return codes) I suggest to let the user define which keyboard hits should be assigned to these actions. I had seen this kind of &qu...

Re: Inline assembler

Hi Provoni, The following program is supposed to return "123" but does not. 123 is decimal; let us try with hex encoding (quick and dirty). You`ll have to define some kind of Union to access the lower parts qword values. Maybe later, but this should help at least a bit: '64-bit 'screenres ...

Hi Chung, i can do it .would you please publish it as open source at so it will be saved , or do you allow me to do so ? Now that Joshy has agreed, I had a very short look at the code. Most of the ASM stuff is concerning memory copies, not a lot mathematic knowledge needed. I think t...

Re: DATA; change DATA variables

Hi, ... but can I change variable's in a DATA statement during runtime? Say: DATA "1,3,1,1,1,4,2" to DATA "1,2,2,4,2,1,2" try: ' read statements, just an example restore D_LABEL1: read i1,i2,i3,i4,i5,i7 ' or whatever restore D_LABEL2: read i1,i2,i3,i4,i5,i7 ' or whatever ' other ...

Just another idea. 'Corresponding.bas ' the "DATA" could be read from a file as well... DATA "1,3,1,5,1,1,1,5,3,2,3,1,0" ' added "0" as ´stopper´ :) Adi Dim myStr As String Read mystr ' = DATA Dim FieldCorresponding As Long Print MyStr For i As Integer=1 To Len(MyStr) S...

[quote="Richard"]I get error number 25, "Overflow in const conversion" in line 3 of this code. Hi Richard, if you only want to avoid the annoying message (the result might be OK), why not try the good old-fashioned XOR : ' works fine with fb105/x64/win ' the *1 vars are for being...

Re: IDE Tool ColorList

Hi Sancho, I didn´t look too much at the code, but tried immediately the EXE. It works. Even on my machine (Virtual VMware/WIn10/ver 14393). For those who know how to write GUIs it might be a good help. Since the left button of my mouse produces more clicks than me :-) (read: is defect), I noticed t...

Re: 'dirExists' function ;); Different Solution

Hi all, I do not know if with LINUX there are "forbidden folders" too. If yes, you can`t CD to such a folder, even if it exists, but you might want to know whether it exists or not (maybe before you try to create one with a name already used). I Cannot prove that the code runs on LINUX too...

Re: No Command(0) for dynamic lib ?

Hi Joshy,

D.J.Peters wrote:If [...] command(0) returned "thename.dll" or ""

if you just want the DLL to tell you her name, I would try somewhere in the code

Code: Select all

  VAR myName=__FILE__

and provide a function for the answer.

Re: Little Distro

Hi nimdays, I loaded your ISO with VMware Player/Win10 and it ran. But, I have to confess, the only reason I'd like to run Linux would be to test out the compatibility of my FB programming with Linux systems. But I am not sure that I could DL the binaries, click once or twice, and start trying it ou...
