Re: Font size? - output screen

@Basiccoder: The page you linked for Draw String is actually a page describing the library font.bi. This library is part of the FreeBASIC Extended Library Group, which is not updated and doesn't work with the latest FB version. Here is a link to the Draw String function documentation. @BPlus: I have...

Re: Problems with GFXLIB

How are you guys switching back to windowed mode? Alt+ TAB does not do that. When I use Alt + Tab and click on the program it just brings me back to the fullscreen. I can't go fullscreen in that mode either, however I have seen the colors different in fullscreen mode before. I have also posted here ...

Re: assigning a negative num to unsigned var

Uhm... I assume then the opposite must also happen, like: Dim a As Byte a = 255 Print a ... and you get -1 Indeed. That's what I'm getting! You are getting exactly what is expected. This is documented: 8-bit signed whole-number data type. Can hold a value in the range of -128 to 127 That code is no...

Re: Game Maxit (clone)

I beat it at depth 12. This game is as stated a clone. The rules are out there if you google it. However its quite simple. You the human player can only select a square on the line at which the cursor is on. The computer must then select a square in the column which is the one you select previously....

Re: Weird bug?

I can't reproduce the error, though I don't know what you mean by 'function key' and f11. f11 is a function key. And I tried it with ctrl, alt, windows key, shift, capslock, numlock. #Include "fbgfx.bi" Using fb ScreenRes 800, 600 Dim l As Long = 0 Do If MultiKey(SC_B) Then Cls: Print &quo...

Re: ForumBlobPost - Utility (Ver.0.4)

Hm, yes, the easiest solution would be to allow attachments in this forum. I've no idea why this isn't allowed as the necessary storage for that shouldn't be expensive at all these days. In this case however, we are talking about images, which can be easily (and safely) stored in a number of places...

Could you zip up the necessary source files, rather than having to download the entire repository?

Re: How to use Arrays In FreeBASIC

Essentially a list box is just a rectangle piece of the display screen within which the data is displayed. As regards inserting, deleting, editing, loading and saving data it is just like any other list including scrolling up/down most of which is in code I first demonstrated a couple of years ago....

Re: Terrible Bugs

Note that in the case of variable string arrays, or variable strings within TYPEs, (i.e. not STRING*n or ZSTRING*), what is contained in the array is not the strings but the string descriptors. The consequence of this is that if you say PUT #myfile, mystringarray(), you save the current string desc...

Re: How to use Arrays In FreeBASIC

It looks like a "list". Some languages have a built in list object which acts as a collection of items. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6sh2ey19(v=vs.110).aspx VB.Net Lists have builtin methods such as ADD, and properties such as COUNT. In FB you will have to write those methods y...

Re: create program to create bitmap

it doesn't matter what editor is used since I am also proposing FB to read the clipboard directly and then make a BMP file from it... it never gets into the editor. Same for when posting an image... the utility will read from the raw BMP file, convert it to modified ASCII and put it on the clipboar...

Re: create program to create bitmap

Mr. Swiss, Are you saying that if I posted some text with codes above 127, and even though I can view them and copy/paste them directly from the forum, that other folks with different 'settings' (perhaps in other countries?) will not see the same codes so they would not be able to copy/paste the co...
