I didn't know the dos fb compiler works in windows.
I just compile my program through both the dos and windows compiler and get both the os' exe.

I assume you really mean dos, and not windows commandline programs.


Yes I really mean dos.

I got wdosx but I cant seem to find out how to use it.

Can I use the windows fbc to make a dos program, or is having dos fbc the only way to make dos programs.

But can you remove the flicker. Screenlock/screenunlock doesn't seem to work.

running timer in background of input

Is there a way to run a timer in the background of an input so that it asks user to input text if they do not do it in 15 secs then it stops inputting?

I'd like to avoid threads if at all possible as I read they do not work in dos.

Thanks all for the help.

I think I'll give up networking for now. It's starting to confuse me quite a bit. I don't know enough about networks to make a program yet.

I just want to make a game with direct IP connect. There are lot's of games out there that have internet multiplayer how do they do it? I don't have to reinvent the wheel I can just do it the same way they did it.

Thanks for showing me how to open a link but I have a new question : ) how can I make a simple chat program that connects to another copy of the program on a different computer over internet or LAN when the user types in the other computers IP. Then they can send strings of text to each other. I kno...

I couldn't find anything about using the default browser but internet explorer will work fine.

How can I send a variable to another program on a different PC over LAN or internet? Will this library work?

It does work but all I can get out of it is to print the HTML code of a webpage. How can I use it to input a string of text from the webpage to a string in the program?
