Re: WebFPC

Something is wrong with your code. I get a segmentation fault in zsh on my Fedora Core 19 system. Will test on other shells to see if it is just zsh.

Re: My second game: Breakout

I had one problem where the ball hit between the edge of the level and the bar (they were touching) and the ball acted as if it had fallen.

Re: WebFPC

Subroutines seem very important. I insist. Also, why can't you use subroutines? Do you know? Are you able to post source for me to test?

Re: WebFPC

That compiler has never worked for me. I can create a few packages for installing FreeBASIC if you want. Which Puppy do you use? Slacko, Wary or Precise?

Re: Using FreeBASIC static libraries with C

Got it to work a while ago, but now have another problem. I am now writing in functions for sprite handling, and cannot get the sprite to move. I have tracked the problem down to the player sprite being stored in a shared ptr. I think that if I somehow allow the pointer to be used from the C side (P...

Using FreeBASIC static libraries with C

Re: Is there a thread-safe sleep command?

I am using ThreadCall, so my thread creation looks like this:

Code: Select all

Sub musicplaying() 'Play the music in the background, in a separate thread
        Do
             PLAY music
        Loop
End Sub

Dim as any ptr musicthread = threadcall musicplaying 'the music thread

Re: Is there a thread-safe sleep command?

@marcov This is the music thread:

Code: Select all

Sub musicplaying() 'Play the music in the background, in a separate thread
        Do
             PLAY music
        Loop
End Sub

EDIT: Also, I am using Fedora 19 (so, Linux.)

@Landeel No, don't think I've heard of SCREENSYNC. I'll try it though.

Is there a thread-safe sleep command?

Hello, I am writing a game, but it is using 98% cpu. I tried using sleep 1, 1 to free up some memory, but then strange other glitches (such as the seperate music thread slowing down and acting strange, eg. music is distorted, etc.). I have so far tracked it down to the sleep command not being thread...

FBGFX problem [SOLVED]

I am trying to open a graphics screen. Screen 18 returns 0, but nothing shows up. Using Fedora Core 19. Doesn't work in Blackbox or i3. Here's my code: #include "tupfunc.bi" Dim as integer ctr, e Screen 18 e = Err Print e Sleep music="mf i48 t140o2p4g2e4.f8g4o3c2o2b8o3c8d4c4o2b4a8g2.o...

Problem with threads [SOLVED]

When I try to compile my code (it uses threads) I get this error:

Code: Select all

tupfunc.bi(19) error 11: Expected constant, before ''' in 'dim shared as any ptr musicthread = threadcall musicplaying 'the music thread'

I tried compiling with -mt, but no fixes.
