Re: Windows GUI

Hi Provoni, please have a look at the FireFly help file (FireFly.chm), chapter "User Reference Guide - Menu Editor". You must write your code into the WM_COMMAND function of your form. For writing code using Windows API functions, you can use the FireFly Functions library in most cases. A ...

Re: Windows GUI

Hi Provoni, my WinGUI does not support graphics or pictograms/icons, but you can use it in parallel with a FreeBasic graphics screen where you can draw something or run an animation etc., also probably your self coded GUI (if there is no conflict with variable names between your GUI and WinGUI). The...

Re: Is there an IDE which supports UNICODE ?

I tried PN. Somehow i managed to make a custom menu to compile fb program. But don't know how to make PN run my compiled exe. And i can't see any syntax lexer for FB in PN. My bas file detected as visual basic code. You can download a scheme for Programmer's Notepad syntax highlighting of FreeBasic...

Re: Is there an IDE which supports UNICODE ?

Here is a topic how to configure Notepad++ for FreeBasic: http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22849&p=200432&hilit=notepad#p200432. I myself managed to do that for PSPad, but I stay with Geany.

Re: Simple GUI

Sorry, no. I used comments in the source code of GUI.bas in order to describe each control type and each function briefly, but you should study the code examples in order to see how the library works. I guess it is not too difficult. Alternatively, you might try my Windows API library (see first pos...

Re: Is this ABC the same one we use in play function?

Obviously not. See description of PLAY in the QB64 documentation http://www.qb64.net/wiki/index.php/PLAY . Note that the Play function is not implemented in FreeBasic! I implemented a subset of Play functions, some years ago, download: https://www.freebasic-portal.de/downloads/sonstiges/play-in-free...

Re: Windows gui programming tutorials in FbEdit or FireFly ?

Hi Lothar Schirm, Let me ask you one doubt. I have read your gui lib. As i can see, you just included basic events to all controls. Like GetState and SetState for a check box. This is my question. Do we need to write almost all events to all controls ? Like MouseHover, MouseLeave, KeyPress, MouseCl...

So you are using your own include directory. Then how can we tell freeBasic that our include files are in a specific directory ?

I write the path into to the #include statement, e.g.

Code: Select all

#include "Inc\WinGUI.bi"

or

Code: Select all

#include "..Inc\WinGUI.bi"

Re: Windows gui programming tutorials in FbEdit or FireFly ?

In autoit, we use #include to include a file in our program. I know that is the same in freebasic. But my question is, where is the include directory ?. I mean i don't think using the one inc folder in installed directory is a good idea. Is there a dedicated directory to put the include files ? I d...

Re: Windows gui programming tutorials in FbEdit or FireFly ?

In this tutorial you can find simple methods how to use the Windows API: http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13451 . It is not the "normal" way how to program Windows GUIs, but it works and is often used by several members of this forum. I created a library based on this...
