Re: The forum's search function is useless

Any language that can't make up its mind how "ough' is pronounced is a bit silly anyway.

Epicycles

So, I was interested in exploring a bit of FB animation and graphics programming. But, being a professional engineer, I also like mathematical applications. Suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome. '-- Program: Epicycles '-- Purpose: A demonstration of two-orbit epicycles #Lang "fb&q...

Re: Questions before moving on to FB

My choice (FB) is that exe are very small instead delphi exe. Lazarus exe are biggers than delphi exe... FB may not be the right choice, I will continue my investigations. Thank you all for your answers and advice I have noticed that Lazarus files are bigger than Delphi, but it is a complete packag...

Re: FLTK-C-1.3.3 for FreeBASIC

The data to which zs points is not valid any more? Do you have complete code to test with? Try with: dim shared as string sz The data is still valid...the statement "print zs,*zs" just before WidgetSetLabel gives me both the pointer's address contents and the correct string data. The prog...

Re: FLTK-C-1.3.3 for FreeBASIC

I need a little advice. I am working on a small program to learn how to use FLTK. Part of a callback function retrieves the information in Fl_Input controls. The return type for the function Fl_Input_GetValue() is a Zstring pointer. The Fl_Input controls are initialized properly so the pointers to t...

I am also a Z-80 hobbyist, from my Radio Shack days. Still have a Model 4P, along with a couple Timex/Sinclair computers (also Z-80 machines.)

Re: Are you happy with your office's lightings?

Ok, thanks for making it clearer (I was thinking of something else but I'll check for it later). I just can't believe right now that I ignored lightings for so long. And now it starts becoming my new passionata :D Perhaps you are thinking about light sources that provide more of a daylight 'quality...

Re: Are you happy with your office's lightings?

Really encouraging that you in US are making it mandatory. This means that this will probably follow here in the old Europe! Actually, most of the US tends to run behind Europe on energy efficiency. The US energy codes are based on the IECC (International Energy Conservation Code.) The IECC is also...

Re: Are you happy with your office's lightings?

I've been doing lighting design professionally for over 30 years. During that time, the rules of thumb for lighting in a workspace (specifically workstation) environment has changed quite a bit. Hi Linuxbob, thanks for your feedback. Did you never install some of those ligthing that are supposed to...

Re: Are you happy with your office's lightings?

Linuxbob sounds like a person who would not tolerate windows in any shape or form. Who works in the terminal gloom with a bare flickering light bulb hanging by a yellowish cable, and a moth circling around. Actually, I've had to work in a lot of 'mushroom farm' places, and I detest them. The more w...
