I was trying to figure that one out as well. Just wanted to make my 3d GL Graphics very retroish by applying lines and smaller faces/quads onto the same face instead of having texture because the smoothness of the texture on each face seems a bit dull to me. Unless if I can make the texture not smoo...

If you can export to .obj format, sure I think freebasic can use it because of it's readable ASCII format.

I would suggest to spread freebasic and it's manuals on to a P2P and torrent networks that don't sound so illegal like PirateBay.

Everything works with this code except for.. That I had to DIM Texture As GLuint, and binded Texture for the second time, included glTexCoord2f to draw a quad, and not to mention enabled GL_Texture as well. And the result I got was a white quad with no texture. Guess that I'm not doing anything righ...

Is there any other way to load images in OpenGL besides using the png image library? I tried loading a PNG image and glBindTexture at the same time but it screwed up real badly.

I have a question regarding the usage of OpenGL and Texture in version 17b the non CVS version. While I already know that you can't do that in the CVS version. In the fbgfx and Nehe17 example there still seems to be a memory leak.. It probably has to do with createtex.bi.. which is the file that I h...

I would suggest a library to be created in order to use Direct3D easier for FreeBasic. Because OpenGL is fairly easy to learn.

I actually use my own format to load my models. I avoid using pointers to make things easier when it comes to loading models.

But first I load the .obj model(from Basic4GL) to get the numeric data type because it's readable by the human. Then I write the program to get it saved from my own format.

I am currently making a shmup type of game and it requires me to put in a ton of effort to get the stage spawning, enemies and bosses moving and shooting in specified locations and patterns hopefully I'll have to get it done soon.

Nice lib here...

Should I worry about this warning message that pops ups?

I actually have the same problem here as well. Just sorting the polies by center won't get you the exact 3d scene that your looking for but it's a good start. I have also been running google search for hours on how to actually get to have polies sorted correctly. There is no possible way to do cycli...

There is some in the examples/windows directory however, hardley any of these code are understandable to me. I would like to use DirectX as well however, someone needs to make some type of helper thing to make it easier to code with for the not so expert programmers like me. Unlike the vast majority...

Well I'm more of an artists than an advanced programmer that knows everything about memory pointers and buffers The code you posted was the BMP loading codes that were ripped from those NeHe GL tutorials because I just wanted to program a 2D shooter game. As for taking a look at the two things you s...
