Re: Function parameter call by reference?

Thanks. This confirms what I thought, that it should simply be @w, @h, but this returns a suspicious pointer warning and doesn't work. So, I'm guessing there may be a small error either in the original code or in the FB SDL header.

Function parameter call by reference?

Hello folks, while translating this SDL2 tutorial to fb, I've run into a challenge. /** * Draw an SDL_Texture to an SDL_Renderer at position x, y, preserving * the texture's width and height * @param tex The source texture we want to draw * @param ren The renderer we want to draw to * @param x The x...

Re: First try at extended classes

I have another extended class question. Lets say I have a base class astro_object and 2 extended classes planet_type end comet_type (each with there own added properties and methods). Next I have 2 classes containing a list planets and a list of comets: planet_list_type and comet_list_type . All ni...

Re: Physics question

Cool, I see that you have a 'slightly' modified the gravitational constant, else thing would be very slow. For linux systems: Dim shared as Single Double FPS_Timer, t0 It's just a constant, you can give it any value you want. The real G is just as arbitrary, it depends on the random units we use. I...

Re: Physics question

I'm still around :-) Here, as promised, are some space physics examples. Some are rather old, but I'll just post them as they are, warts and all. First, a vector library and a ball shaped space ship, asteroids in orbit around a central planet, also featuring collision with friction. You control the ...

Re: Physics question

Oh man, this is just my kind of thread :-) Awesome to come back to the forums after a long break to see you guys hard at work making cool stuff! I have made loads of space physics doodle stuff just like this in the past few years, just gimme a bit of time and I'll dig out some stuff that is definite...

Re: Atom Breakout

Nice take on a very classic game :-)

I noticed that you wanted to add spin. I've got some physics examples lying around that deals with rotation and friction, if you need inspiration.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: CSGP : Moon Lander...

This is awesome! I remember when you posted this many years ago. When I compile the lander.bas file in WIn 10 64 bit, I get a dos window saying initializing, and a small black window.

Re: "Basic Warfare" FreeBasic Multiplayer RTS Game

It's a dynamic library so they don't need to be in your compiler lib folder. They just need to be in the same directory as the executable. Ah yes, I just got a bad case of the Sunday stupids :-) Now the game loads and runs, but I can't seem to get anything to working. Klicking any network related b...

I copied the Win64 dll files to my freebasic/lib folder but get the same error. Do I need to install fbsound separately?

Re: "Basic Warfare" FreeBasic Multiplayer RTS Game

I feel a bit stupid for saying this, but all I get when trying to compile the code is this:

error: lib fbsound-64 not loaded !

I checked the folders, and everything the program needs seems to be there.

Re: DIY hardware interface for simple data collection and robot control?

Hi TJF, That looks really cool! :) So far I'm going to stick with Arduino because I don't really need a lot of cpu power or memory, but I really, really need it to be simple, and I need the very easy I/O functionality that allows you to add sensors, led's, motors and so on. Cheers, and happy holiday...

Re: DIY hardware interface for simple data collection and robot control?

I'll keep you updated, Cheers Mike Well, how far is your current progress? Just curious ... I ended up trying Arduino and wasn't disappointed. It's basically like an old Commodore 64 in a matchbox :-) For a very few quid, and spending a very little time, you've got LED's blinking and stepper motors...
