Re: Ownership?

I changed it to QB console and #lang "QB" and it's working.
At lease as a QB program.

I suspect the other problem (still persisting) has something to do with Win 7 UAC (User Account Controls).
But haven't figured it all the way out yet.

(life was easier in XP)

Re: Ownership?

Win 7 64 bit new Freebasic Install Once my code compiles and creates an EXE file, I run into trouble. I can not compile again Can't erase the EXE. A box comes up saying I need permission to perform this action. Sometimes it offers "Yes" Sometime "Try again" - which never works. ...

Re: Ownership?

I doubt it's anything in the code, it's too simple But here anyway... When I try to delete the exe I get a message: Title = File In Use The action can't be completed because the file is open in Syste, Close the file and try again. Which doesn't work and repeats itself. But the Windows Task Manager d...

Re: Ownership?

I think I've got it working. Deleted the previous install (64 bit zip) and reinstalled from the win32bit exe. Does the EXE installer dink with the registry? (edit) Spoke too soon... Still don't have access to the compiled file _ AFTER running it. (and no, it's not still running) Still getting permis...

False virus hit on compiled programs

I'm getting "virus protection" from Vipre Internet every time I try to run a compiled program.
Scans do not pick up a problem with FreeBasic, so I think it's a false positive.

Anybody?

Re: Windows File Names?

...so, you found the problem then? I'm guessing your using Windows XP, because on Vista or Win7 the folder path would be C:\Users\[username]\Documents or C:\Users\[username]\Videos or something else if you changed it. Have you thought of using Dir for checking if the folders exist instead of open? ...

I don't know what cavelamb's problem is, but there are actually some errors in the windows include files. Some files have incomplete line breaks - which are used by other systems, but unknown in windows environment. one of these is i.e. "FreeImage.bi" FBedit can't handle such line breaks for exampl...
