yeah meta-commands are useless in my opinion - I have never used one in FB's existence. Comments should be.. ignored :P

I think that to parse a single line comment, all characters should be consumed/ignored until a new line character is reached: meaning no multi-line comments within a single line comment. A bug that should be fixed, even if people were abusing this anomaly.

How to detect the PAUSE/BREAK key?

I am trying to detect when the PAUSE/BREAK key is pushed so that my game will pause, however multikey() seems to not support the key... is it possible? Surely its not rocket science..

Well in my opinion, Id imagine classes would look almost identical to TYPE's, with a few extra capabilities. Here's a type example, that works in the current freebasic release type HelloWorld Declare Constructor Declare sub Method1 dim s as string = "hello again" end type Constructor Hello...

Ah I am liking this discussion ;). Perhaps I should have worded my original post better, but what I wanted out of this is that we plan the changes before they happen, so that when(if?) they do happen everybody will be happy. heh nice. You can also do 2d line or vector character animation, and ID software did their 3D animation in Quake by interpolating their 3d models vertices ;P .

Ah - I will look at that ;).

So you are saying that, there will be several standard libraries to choose from? So if you wanna use procedural standard fb lib, dont do anything. If you wanna use FB-OO standard lib, include one of the objects you want?

I suppose that would work.

My thoughts about FreeBasic and "Object Oriented code&a

It struck me today that as FreeBasic is pushing further and further towards supporting OO, this may be wonderful - but will also have very dramatic side-effects if OO is ever implemented. Some of these side effects could be seen as both positive and negative. For instance, previous to today I was th...
