Re: Toad on Fire - Dev Log

Progress Update, June 2018 Bug fixes! Bug fixes! Bug fixes! In prep for releasing a new demo, I've been running through the game a lot, fixing what bugs that come up. There always seems to be something to fix. That's why I don't have a demo for this month; there was much more to fix than I expected...

Re: Next generation name is FB++ ?

No thanks. I don't want FB to be associated with C++. I agree with lizard that it should be updated to support more relevant formats like png and ogg. Keep it simple, but relevant. Remove barriers to entry for newcomers, like complexity and lack of support for commonly used formats. FB is already on...

Try compiling with the "-exx" option. That might give you more details.

Re: What is good cross platform gameloop?

You just need to keep track of how much time passes within the game loop. Then if you want something to move at 60px/sec, you multiply by a factor of sixty. Example: Let `t` be the time that passed between frames -- in seconds (using double-precision). Let `v` be the position vector. v += 60*t So if...

Re: Toad on Fire - Dev Log

I realize I'm over due for another demo. So much has changed since the last one. And I also want to get one out to share. I'll be aiming for June to release the next demo.

Toad on Fire - Dev Log

Hello. My game ain't dead, in case you were wondering. :)

I've been working on it diligently since the last update. I thought I'd start a new thread to keep track of the recent progress on my game. I hope to keep it updated at least once a month. Heh, we'll see how that goes.

Re: PATH for include files

Probably best to not rely on those paths in your program. This should be something configured on a system or compiler level: they should already be in your path or passed as an option when compiling.
