Re: Pan and Zoom 2D with mouse (new code example)

It's not just a single image that is zooming, but a bunch of slices and markers over the image as well. Well in the first post you wrote "like a paint program". Clearly I have no idea what you are actually trying to do so it is impossible to even think about it. No idea what you mean by &...

Re: Pan and Zoom 2D with mouse (new code example)

Maybe something like this. In the source code just change the image you want to load and its dimensions. Use the keys, 1 to 9 to change the magnification. It would be easy enough to replace the key commands with the mouse wheel to change magnifications. #include "fbgfx.bi" ' D.J.Peters ima...

After all those years together I love FreeBasic too. Nice to see there are still supporters still using it in their projects.

Re: firmata firmware

Thank you Joshy.
It seems to work now.
I have buttons attached to pins 22,23,24,25 and the image shows me pressing the button attached to pin 23.

Re: firmata firmware

While playing with Processing3 and noticing firmata being mentioned with regards to the Arduino it was only a thought bubble to use it with FreeBASIC instead of Processing3 as I haven't really had any time to explore what was involved. The examples of using Processing3 and the Arduino, https://proce...

firmata firmware

While learning to use the Processing language I came across this and wondered if it could also be used with FreeBASIC?

Re: Marching Cubes

There is no window it is full screen so I can't see the fps in the window title.
When I say slow I should have asked can the speed be changed by changing some increment or decrement somewhere?

Re: animated toroid in OpenB3D

Horrible flickering display? Can it work with screenres 640,480,32? I tried to capture the screen image with the keyboards [prt sc] key but all that showed was a blank window? Why does it have to keep coming and going in size? Can you make a still version that just changes size or whatever with a si...

Re: Squares

But some conceptual crap that I forget (and every child forgot) They had to go back to the rote learning of the tables and the rules of arithmetic. I would prefer to just know the rules and get a job done. But of course that is just my opinion. And for a practical use of math that makes sense. Unde...

math more than just rules

The language of maths is not necessarily the same as the language of speech. You just have to follow the rules of maths because that is all maths is - rules. Sorry I would have to disagree with that from what I have read. Some people can go far with a good memory but they may lack understanding and...

Re: Physics question

@dodicat, My attempts just result in the coffin spinning out of control! Can you get it on target? So I cheated!! changed line 258 to make finer adjustments to the direction, Dim As pt x2=Getline(mx,my,wheel/90,length) And inserted these guidelines in the display code, circle (200,400),5,rgb(255,0,0...

Re: Physics question

Now maybe make it into some kind of game? That is the plan, that is also why this 'physics question' is in the 'Game Dev' section :-) I must say I find controlling the ship frustratingly impossible! Of course fun retro computer games usually don't use real physics. These 2d games can always be give...

Your image doesn't show up for me. I had to hold the right button down over the icon to get the image url and paste that into google in order to view the image. I use, https://postimages.org/ I will have to order some of those SN74HC595N IC's to give it a go. Are you going to post your code? Maybe s...

Re: Physics question

@badidea, I like it! Now maybe make it into some kind of game? Perhaps manoeuvring through an asteroid belt looking for natural resources or combat with opponents? With asteroids to give a sense of relative motion I would suggest if you can make the origin always be on the space ship? Maybe manoeuvr...
