Serial Port Locking Up Program
Hi all. It has been a while since a last posted on this forum. I've come back to FB to experiment with serial port reading which I need to know about for my job. The other guys generally use LabView or Visual BASIC for their programming but I'd like to show them that a language that doesn't cost a f...

Sorry everybody, my bad. You can download Mentat's program now, I'm still in the process of setting the forum up again and forgot to allow guests to download attachments. The last run got killed by spam so I'm being kind of strict on who I allow in now. Please sign in and make some posts so I can ge...

Well I've finished school now and just bludging at home now... So make the next one as short as you want ciw :-D. I think that 2 months is too long especially for FB newbies like myself. That's a long time to spend on a game, a lot of people couldn't be bothered using their spare time on one project...

Seeing how a month doesn't seem long enough for us to collaborate some articles, how about no deadline, just a content target? This would mean consistency in size for...

Got it fixed! Just used the original QB program, which just used the OUT command, and declared all the variables at the start and now it works exactly how it should. Why doesn't the QB program work though? Would it have anything to do with Windows 2000 restricting access to hardware ports for DOS/16...

LPT1 Port Access
Hello. I require a program that sends small integers to the LPT1/Parallel port. The computer is running Windows 2000 and I believe the port address is &378(hexadec). I have currently been using a QBasic program that used to work on a Win95 machine but I don't think it'll work the same because Wi...
