Re: 3D Geometry , basics

Thank you Luxan. This is non string parser, but experimenting with light shading with a given trig function. Re: Rotating Earth build 2019-04-11

Little update on 2019-04-11:
* added simple meteor movement
* sun light direction is now from the right side
* ecliptic calculation (earth axis)

If you are interested have a look to the 1st post. You need to download the zip-archive because I changed the background size.

Re: Rotating Earth build 2019-04-08

Thanks UEZ. Very nice. If you don't mind, I have tweaked a bit to give shorter days (and nights) Hi all, @dodicat, your snippet doesn't use GDI+ it seems? If so, I'll try to learn from it because I was looking for a planet for my game ! Neither the code I posted nor the tweaked version from dodicat...

Re: Rotating Earth build 2019-04-08

Thanks for your feedback dodicat. :-) No, I don't mind of course and I also wanted to ask how to tweak the code that it runs faster. That's a nice idea to use the construct which give a great performance boost to fps - now at ~ 77 fps (doubled+). I need to analyse and check it to understand the idea...

Rotating Earth build 2019-04-14

I've already coded this using GDI+ but now my try to code it without GDI+ using native FB code. That means it should run also on Linux (not tested by me). https://i.ibb.co/5k9GjQ2/Screenshot-RE.jpg Source code: 'Main code by UEZ 'Image to sphere projection by andalmeida -> https://www.codeproject.co...

Re: FB File2Bas Code Generator v0.99 beta [Windows only]

@marpon: thank you for your reply. I will definitely have a look to the other compression functions. Well, there are many ways to add binary data to the compiled exe and one of these is this method. The reason why I've chosen it is historical because I've created something like this in the past for ...

Re: FB File2Bas Code Generator v0.99 beta [Windows only]

Updated to v0.99

Added simple_lzfx_v2 (thanks to marpon) and zlib as additional compression algorithms.

See post#1 for decompression examples.

Re: GCC compiler question

Apparently the length depends on the exe size. The larger the file the more repetitions exist. #Include "file.bi" Function tally(somestring As String,partstring As String) As Integer Dim As Integer i,j,ln,lnp,count,num ln=Len(somestring) lnp=Len(partstring) count=0 i=-1 Do i+=1 If somestri...

GCC compiler question

Can somebody explain me why this (the text starting at the red arrow) is compiled to the executable? https://i.ibb.co/bJSL0KB/GCC.png Is this important to execute the program properly? If not, how can I tell the compiler not to add the text? Screenshot is from Windows exe. Thanks

Re: Spring is in the air.

Well done dodicat. I like the idea of procedural graphic animation. I think some (Perlin) noise would give it a little more natural movements of the birds and gras. ^^ Btw, what about the black rectangle. I guess it should zoom but it doesn't. Compression algorithms either graphic or audio is a very...

Re: Issue with RtlCompressBuffer / RtlDecompressBuffer

Don't expect miracles from RtlCompressBuffer... FB, MichaelW: NTDLL buffer compression vs ZLIB José Roca: RtlCompressBuffer and RtlDecompressBuffer Masm32: How difficult is it to build a shrinking/deflating routine? Thanks for the links. I added ZLib to FB File2Bas Code Generator , too, which seems...

Re: Issue with RtlCompressBuffer / RtlDecompressBuffer

Merci marpon for your reply. :-) Well, if I would carefully read the documentation at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ddi/content/ntifs/nf-ntifs-rtldecompressbuffer I would have seen that COMPRESSION_FORMAT_XPRESS_HUFF is not listed and thus not possible to decompress it, o...
