Re: Property returns incorrect object

After posting a version using your system of a boolean variable 'is_changed' I realized it wasn't going to work. I deleted it. Neither will your version work. The reason is that the variable must be able to tell the code whether its been changed since its been checked last . In your code the member...

Unless you are on XP. Unfortunately PaulSquires said that no compatibility with XP will be provided.

Re: Property returns incorrect object

KeyPgProperty → fxm [Added in description that a get-Property can also return a reference (with associated syntax)] Hi fxm, is there a reason why it is in the text and not in the syntax description? Just missing a [byref] before the " as return type". A get-Property can also return a refe...

Re: shellexecute, how to?

KeyPgSwap → fxm [SWAP also works on UDT instances] 2 remarks, fxm: ⋅  SWAP seems not to be allowed to be OVERLOAD ⋅  SWAP seems not to understand inheritance My best attempt to make a Swap doing something compatible with a basic case of inheritance is this one (using your bytesw...

Re: FB Setup for FBEdit editor

You can also use BEEP, to get aknowledged that something was run. The documentation says however that some systems won't beep: (doc) Beep tells the system to sound a beep noise. Note that this might not work on some platforms. Since this command is not reliable and there is no way to specify the fre...

Re: What to do about a lack of developers for the compiler?

If the FreeBasic compiler was bundled with support libraries which could be used with a simple import statement it would be easy for people with my limited knowledge to write those simple games you write about. That's call for a question then. Why the extended library project finally collapsed. It ...

Re: Making FreeBasic appealing to a wider audience

Sorry I'm not understanding what you mean. Python is taught at school. It has plenty of published books written by scholars. In one word this is the kind of stuff that is sustained by the guys who are still at school. I'm not against this, but it gives a kind of advantage over any language sustaine...

Re: Making FreeBasic appealing to a wider audience

@deltarho[1859] After delving into Python for a couple of months, I fail to see the allure. I really can't understand why so many people jumped on this bandwagon. PyCharm is a nice IDE though. Python has seduced the hi-school scene, and it's plenty of good programming tutorials all around youtube, ...

Re: shellexecute, how to?

even after checking the hard drive for errors the result is the same, some system file got corrupted but disk-check does not find anything wrong, looks like I will have restore from backup. :-( Did you try to launch checkdisk with all the variants of the parameters? Or sometimes windows prompts you...

Re: shellexecute, how to?

I need to call shellexecute with a command like lolremez --double -d 5 -r "sqrt(2):pi^2" "atan(sqrt(3+x^3)-exp(1+x))" how to call shellexecute with the above command line? I know I add some difficulty with shell or shellexecute, with spaces and wildcards and so on. I wished to t...

Re: What to do about a lack of developers for the compiler?

To make it explicit what I'm thinking of very often, I ask this question: ⋅ Why don't we launch limited time challenges with silly projects? For instance, this week let's make a pacman remake. If you want to promote a language you must show its power over another choice to achieve some go...

Re: Invitation to the InterCraft server!

We are using a lot of mods, but most of them don't alter the gameplay very much, just Galacticraft and OpenComputers. I think we also have another mod that lets you use assembly as well... There is a full list of mods here: https://intercraftmc.com/about But yeah, we'll be glad to have you on the s...

Re: Replace __DATE__ with __DATE_ISO:__

Using a macro would allow a renaming on demand without any breach on the backward compatibility:

Code: Select all

#undef __DATE_ISO__

#macro  __DATE_ISO__
   str(__DATE__)
#endmacro

? __DATE_ISO__

Maybe of course I miss the crucial point.

Re: Is there some OCR library that may grab text from a screenchot?

What is the project? You mention zooming. Is that a camera input? Zooming on a computer screen is pointless as it will remain the same size in terms of pixels. Rotated characters means using characterizers that are invariant to rotation although you may also compute the degree of rotation. eg. \ / ...
