Re: Shaped Window with mouse area problem

Hi Forgotten Coder, I've modified your original code. It seems better now ( tested on Linux only but should be OK on Windows). Not sure about the 'violent' mouse movement though. Take it easy. #include "fbgfx.bi" Using fb dim e As EVENT dim as integer mxpressed, mypressed, mx, my, mxold, m...

Re: Geany FBC Build Command Not Working

Hi throwingmuse and welcome, I think the problem is Geany not finding your command line terminal. Go to Geany -> Preferences -> Tools and make sure the Terminal field is set correctly. I had to set mine to xterm -e "/bin/sh %c". You may have to put whatever is your terminal name in place o...

Re: X-Clipboard (text only)

I have successfully downloaded fbclplib from the above link. However, when I run it ( it compiles OK) I receive a segment error in the console window along with error number 139. I am using FB ver 1.03 64 bit. Is 64 bit the problem? If so can this be updated to work? Any help would be greatly apprec...

Re: copy then screen

I would be interested to know how to do this, and to be able to use the clipboard in general, from Linux. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Many thanks in anticipation.

Re: -O 3 Optimization Query

My apologies. I have just found a post about FBIde converting command line parameters to lower case. I will try the work around and dig out my copy of FBEdit. Thanks again to you both.

Re: -O 3 Optimization Query

Thanks dodicat,
However I cannot replicate what you have done. Each time I receive error 80 Invalid command-line option "wc". Even though I am using Wc. I am trying this on Vista 64 (same PC) and have used both Freebasic 1.00 and 1.01 win64.

Re: -O 3 Optimization Query

Thanks marcov for your speedy reply.
My procedure (popcount) does do something real but it is the same for each iteration so I can appreciate your explanation. The optimization routine appears to be quite smart and I can only assume that it is peculiar to Linux only. Thanks again.

-O 3 Optimization Query

Hi All, Whilst trying to make a program faster I have been trying out different algorithms for a procedure which my program calls frequently. To do this I set up a timer and call the procedure a few million times. This has never been a problem in the past and with better hardware and 64bit OS and Fr...
