Re: Epic Lander - FreeBASIC Game (Spidermonkey, GL, FMOD, et

Sweet... Perhaps this could be done.

Although not yet, want to port the engine to iOS first

Re: Epic Lander - FreeBASIC Game (Spidermonkey, GL, FMOD, et

heheh, pretty cool. would be an awesome game to make epic lander 3d, using procedural realtime planets and such.. I'd hate to have to do the modeling for the lander, asteroids and trees though

Re: Epic Lander - FreeBASIC Game (Spidermonkey, GL, FMOD, et

Thanks for the review VANYA :)

I've uploaded a new version of the game;

Updates:

- Framerate independant physics, game now runs at same speed as it runs on my dev PC
- Gameplay tweaks (Difficulty)
- Added README.TXT

Re: Epic Lander - FreeBASIC Game (Spidermonkey, GL, FMOD, et

My best guess is that the video card doesn't have enough ram or isn't compatible with the version of OGL, 2nd best is that the game doesn't work on some or all installations of XP. Sorry about this, I'll try to test it on an XP machine next time I get a chance, although I have no idea when that will...

Re: Epic Lander - FreeBASIC Game (Spidermonkey, GL, FMOD, et

That's no good. I've only tested it on Win 7 so far.

What's your processor, how much ram and what video card?

It runs well on my core 2 duo with 4gb ram and a new 1GB Radeon HD 6670

Although it's most likely a problem with sound, do you have problems with other FB games using FMOD?

Re: Epic Lander - FreeBASIC Game (Spidermonkey, GL, FMOD, et

Thanks guys, josey: It should infact compile under Linux, I believe all of the libraries work on linux. You would have to make some changes to the spidermonkey headers in your freebasic folder tho, or wait for me to switch it to v8. My computer is fried atm, in the shop. When it's back up I'm going ...

Epic Lander - FreeBASIC Game (Spidermonkey, GL, FMOD, etc)

http://cs.smu.ca/~c_adams1/epiclander/title.png http://cs.smu.ca/~c_adams1/epiclander/ The engine is the 'Relativity' engine, something I've been working on for a few months. Plan to switch to using V8 instead of SpiderMonkey for the scripting side of things, and also make a generalized system for ...

Re: FreeBASIC and Google Chrome's V8

Any more progress on this? I'd like to pick this up, as I need it for my game engine. The engine's nearly complete and I have a half finished game with it, starting to run into some weird parsing errors with SpiderMonkey though. Do you have a version newer than this?

that's a neat idea, although smooth palettes without a lot of sudden change work best. This is cool, however the PM function actually is supposed to generate image data, it takes a palette index (which the image's colour is supposed to stay close to), an x, y (x=y=isz-1 -> bottom right, x=y=0 -> top...

Alien Mind Trap - JS1K demo converted to FB

I did an FB version of this JS demo: http://js1k.com/demo/406 , that I've been working on for the last week. It's a recursive mosaic, with procedurally generated plasma-esque images. Screenie: http://cs.smu.ca/~c_adams1/amt.png Code: #include "fbgfx.bi" dim shared as integer psz=9128,isz=4...

I would suspect it would be a word-for-word translation, as FreeBASIC and C are very similar, excepting syntax.

Thanks for keeping it alive. I'm sure I'll use it if I do another FB game warranting the engine.

I've got an old sprite rotation routine (no zooming, tho) sub rotsprite ( inspr as integer ptr, byref outspr as integer ptr, angle as double, transcolour as integer ) ' Split up into two macros because of FB 1.3's macro size resitrictions #define INITLINE(p1, p2) _ dx = px(p2)...
