3d first person shooter...this program is the first program I started with fb, And still a work in progress. The engine for flight sim was built from this engine.

arrow keys for movement,
mouse to look

you can copy and paste world1.txt from the folder worlds to the working diretory of program to check out other worlds..if anyone is interested I can post the source for the program to build a world.. its simple,it builds from text strings.

very nice so far sanman....seems to be pretty smooth, even of my 1.2 gHz puter with a pathetic 32 mb accelerator card.

Great work.

That's just plain weird syn. Personally I use L-Shift, L-cntrl, Windows Key, and L-Alt. Works a charm under windows. :-)

WASD is king. (Plus my keyboard doesn't like it when I press the left arrow and spacebar at the same time... :)

WASD? You must all be left handed!

The arrow keys are perfect for me, and I can use my left hand for spacebar or whatever. But I usually play only racing games (StarWars pod racing is one of my favorites), so perhaps there is a difference.

Not a bad start, a little inefficient but it runs ok here. Great work for a first attempt though. :)

If you keep your right hand on the mouse, it's hard to reach the arrow keys with your left. :) WASD is just one key away from the regular left-hand "home row" position, and you can still easily reach Shift, Ctrl, the spacebar.

i find this setup perfect for myself...

or just make the keys customizable, its really easy to do and then people can use whatever they want...

edit: just checked it out, so am I short or is the world big? ;) I like the walking effect, makes me feel like more than a floating ghost. :)

Yes, yes I am. But all my right handed friends use WASD to. If you control the mouse with your right hand and the keypad with your left you'll be sitting in a position that will leave you without friends if anyone ever see you playing. O_o

Dont mind my grammar people, I'm tired.
