Some of you might remember Another World Memory, a memory game I release in 2003 and which used graphics ripped from Another World. It is probably one of my least known and played games and I know I can't blame anyone for this. One the end, it does feature RIPPED graphics. Still, I always believed it was a darn good memory game. The fact most people don't want a computer version of a DARN memory game doesn't help.

Download awmemfb.zip

Another reason which made me port Another World Memory to FB is the fact I knew it would be easy. It featured a really "sexy" code, code I'm proud of till today. So despite being a game coded with RelLib porting it to FB was more or less easy. But I didn't stop there. This version brings quite few new features.

This FB port features DIGITAL SOUND EFFECTS(including speech message like "BLUE WINS!" and similar), solo challenge best times tables, extra background in options and about screen, blue font brighten up(the old version really hurt the eyes) and few more nitpicks.

Solo challenge best times tables really add a lot to the game since you have some time scores to beat. I found beating the scores(in order to balance them) quite fun and entertaining. The scores are millisecond precise! This so works in the 4*4 playfield. Modes with both human and CPU opponent(4 levels of AI) are still there.

Anyway, if interested, download the game.

Ah, yes! The package now includes the source code and it's relatively commented. I'm looking for someone interested to implement network(via Internet connection, etc.) play of any sort. Just lemme know. Due the simplicity of the game it shouldn't be a problem but I really don't know anything about this nor I would be able to test network play on my PC.

P.S.

I'm unable to access my webspace account(and it doesn't seem it's gonna change) thus the FileAnchor links and no news on my site. :(

I wouldn't mind a coherent comment.

Great game, Lachie. Your professional touch and smooth, bug free products always impress me. I was surprised and flattered to see you found some of my code useful for your purposes, though I checked the source and see you've done plenty to make it better for your GUI. I never was good at integrating anything besides plain standard text into my games. ^_^

Anyways, the gameplay is fun, and the graphics are great. The sound is right on, as well. I highly recommend this as a challenging game to pass the time. I like the way the AI played dumb for me so I was able to tie it and not suffer the embarrassment of a defeat. ;-)
