Why does it surprise you so? FreeBASIC has access to SDL, Allegro and OpenGL as well as other libraries such as GTK. It's not just a toy BASIC.

If fb couldn't do that it wouldn't have its own webpage and community. The beauty of the language is that it hybridizes the object oriented power of C++ with the grammatical simplicity of QBasic. It rivals Python in every aspect.

Which makes me wonder... How old FreeBASIC? How long since the first release came out?

Well, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeBASIC FreeBASIC is four years old. Not bad for what is relatively a short space of time!

Actually, it's not very clear what the game is about from the video. A space shooter?

BTW, what will be then of Aphex?

I would like you to concentrate on a single project.

Putting &fmt=18 on the end of the YouTube URL makes a difference!

Both of those projects look great, Syn. Which is the closest to being complete?

@sslaxx: prompt critical. it should be done within the next couple days. if not tomorrow.

basically all i have left are powerups, the boss, sound effects, title/exit screens

here are some current screenshots:

keep in mind everything in the games is 100% destroyable. all enemies, bullets, powerups will break apart and explode. even the environment

I was a bit hesitant from the first initial builds, but you've put some serious work into this game and it's shaping up quite nicely. I just hope you put all the small touches on it to make it really shine. Good work bro.
