[solved] If XP updates ends ?

Post by D.J.Peters »

Do you know a link where you can legal download all XP service packs and updates from the past ?
I mean to burn it on CD/DVD for later use.
So far i know you can download service pack 2 and 3 but not the tons of security updates.

Thank you

I myself use XP.
You can Google for various options, for example:
http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/138374- ... after-sp3/

Do you not think Microsoft will have a final rollover as they did with Win 98, and 2000 (if I remember correctly).
I keep sp2 and sp3 on cd's, I have not yet tried to download all the updates since sp3 yet.

But times move on, I think they call it Progress.

In days gone by the word Progress was exciting and full of hope, these days I'm not so sure.

Vista+ have some important features like being able to use USB during installation, or use SATA in native mode without tricks, or gettickcount64.

I run windows8.1 on the newer machines, and Windows XP on machines that were not worth the update (mostly PentiumD's and AthlonXPs)

Thank you.

I found an archive of 56.4MB decompressed 197MB of updates for XP SP3.

Windows update itself will still work for XP for the forseeable future, there just won't be new updates. This is how it worked for 98/2000 so I don't see why they would change it. If you know the KB numbers for the updates you can download them manually direct from microsoft.

Why you would download hundred's of updates manualy if you get it in one archive ?
So it makes sence for me to have it offline here.
