Brick Mayhem

Post by Jonge »

This is a game project I'm working on. It started out as tetris with a isometric twist, controlled with the keboard. Now it controls with the mouse and the main objective has changed from making complete lines to connecting xNumber of blocks of the same color. I'm thinking maybe 50 blocks will be a good number to connect, and if you manage to connect more in one drop there will be some extra bonus.

This demo is mostly just to show off the project and get some feedback. At this point theres still lots of things thats not finished. The only thing you can do now is fill up the playing field with blocks, theres not possible to score any points yet =)

Wow! Really sexy and smooth engine. And mouse controls are a total hit! Keep them please.

I do hope you will brainstorm powerups and maybe more interesting design for the final project. Dunno. A story, or at least change of scenery in some level-based game mode. Maybe some stooges walking around which if you squish with a block to get a bonus. I don't know. I fell that something should/can be done with the bottom plane. Colors, shapes, objects...which you effect/build with your dropping blocks. Maybe ideas for some extra special mode beside the main game mode.

Very good. Did you think up the twist on Tetris?

Hehe this has crossed my mind to =)

I have some ideas for some special blocks that I will add. The game needs more stuff or it will get boring pretty quick.

I like Isometric games, so that way I want to test it out.

Glad it works =) Theres lots of things in the menu that needs updating after changing the controls and objective of the game.
