Re: parking game
You mean, top down pixel art cars? Not so sure.
I really think this is a neat concept. I already see a gameplay based around parking an insert number of cars in a preset time-frame (challenge mode) with or without obstacles and in a progressive gameplay (levels), plus a high score based mode where there are several maps with saveable best time scores.
I would like to try to help with the graphics. Interested?

Re: parking game
You code is nice and simple and makes a good tutorial demo.
The idea could be turned into a good game I think.
I found driving with the cursor keys isn't as easy or as realistic and using a steering wheel, accelerator pedal and brakes.
Not sure I need to see the position of the steering as a red bar? Kind of looks strange?

Re: parking game
alfakilo, I would like to try to drive the cars and tiles myself. I'll try to have something for you this weekend. Ok?
In my opinion the cars should feature acceleration, and divided keys for acceleration pedal (forward and backward) and break. For example, you wouldn't be able to go backwards until you stop with a break, and then reverse with the down arrow key. Same for starting to drive forward again.

Hrm...something is wrong with your physics formulas. Don't have time to check them out, but the car simply doesn't (re)act right. I also think the car is too big for the screen size. Finally, the play-field should be confined from all sides, or some invisible buffer that prevents the car to leave it should be there.

Re: parking game
It is seems to be coming a long nicely :)
Suggestions:
Dents to appear when obstacle hit.
Releasing steering button allows wheels to straighten out.
