OK. The prize money has been paid, and so apart from the website which will be up and running in the next day or so, that's it for another competition. Just out of interest, is anyone going to be taking part in the Ludum Dare 48 Hour games contest starting the middle of next month? I posted the link...

BTW ciw1973, do you plan to comment each entry on this website, as you promised? I'll be putting the comments on the website which will be ready in the next day or so. They'd get lost in this thread if I went back and edited my original results post. As I didn't get chance to do them on the night, ...

You'll find examples of using Glade files with FreeBASIC in the examples\libraries\gtk folder of your install directory. For more details on using libglade you're best just Googling for "libglade tutorial". The examples will more than likely be in C/C++, but the FreeBASIC library will foll...

I thought I'd missed the deadline, so am working on the website at the moment.

If there's still time, I'll start work on an article this evening. Most of it'll just be what I'll be putting on the website anyway.

Could the three prize winners please send an email to ch ris@ ciw4 2.n et (obviously without the spaces) letting me know how they wish to be paid?

I'd prefer to send your prize money via PayPal, but could arrange something else if you'd prefer.

Yeah, it was pretty close, but I don't think it's that surprising because the quality of all the games was very high.

CONGRACTULATIONS FOR ALL o/ the result surprised me a lot, even i have loved Final Invader, but i not tough that it will get that good position ^__^ The only real problem with Final Invader was that it was too easy and a very short game, and was penalised for this in the Replay Value and Depth scor...

Orb - Kristopher Windsor Effective Use of Graphics: 23 care to explain how you end in this conclusion? ^^" Certainly, but first I need to make it clear that the marks in this category were for how effectively the *original* graphics were used, and not how good they looked after processing or i...

I won!!! You certainly did. A truly magnificent shooter on many levels, which breathed new life into the graphics and sound provided, which was an important part of this challenge. ChangeV had you beaten on the controls, presentation, effective use of graphics and sound, but there wasn't much in it...

I'm sorry you feel I've judged your entry too harshly, but I still stand by my scores. Effective Use of Random Numbers: 3 If you haven't noticed, whole levels are random. If that ain't effective use of random, than damn it! And if you notice, you scored as well as other games using random numbers in...

I've totaled the audience scores and am posting up just the scores so you have the results ASAP. I'll edit this and add my comments later this evening. The results a...

I've now finished my judging, and whilst I'll be having a final play of the games on Monday and may end up tweaking the scores a little, as things stand at the moment, first a second place are pretty safe, but the battle for third place is very close, so your audience appreciation scores will almost...

I have to say that I've been very much torn on the subject of how long the next competition should be. First off, I agree 100% with Lachie on this one, in that to write a good quality game which has any chance of meeting your full expectations as a developer (especially if you are creating all of th...

In my earlier post, I said that you had to get your audience appreciation votes to me by 22:00 GMT next Monday, but that's actually the latest time I said the final results will be announced, so you'll need to get them to me by 21:00 GMT. Of course, I'm hoping I'll have heard from all 8 entrants wel...
