However I am getting page not found for the languages.

Actually I never clicked the links for the other languages but now I have I also get a 404: Not Found
Looking at the examples downloaded with FreeBASIC I see they were written back in 2000.

Re: opengl to normal fb screen

http://nehe.gamedev.net/ http://nehe.gamedev.net/tutorial/your_first_polygon/13002/ I see you can download the code converted to different computer languages written by different people for each lesson. Are you going to add your FreeBASIC conversions to this list? It seems to me that many of your co...

Re: Bresenham3D

Changed the SETXYZ to display the isometric coordinates that I had been using in some computer game isometric displays. It also now uses a POINT3D type. There is still something wrong in the Bresenham3D algorithm in that some lines are not made up of connected pixels. 'http://members.chello.at/~easy...

Re: Bresenham3D

Thank you for your input and the link.
I noticed two of the triangle's sides were unconnected dots which was of concern.

Re: Eric: The Mysterious Stranger - RTS game(WIP)

If you are writing a platform game you don't use real physics. The physics in such games are designed for control and fun. If you have reached that stage with Blender, I never did, you are on the home run. Will be interested to see how easy it is to tweak another character. For example I assume you ...

Re: motion capture ?

That seems like a lot of work to me. In blender all I have to do is model a new character. Animations can be carried between models so its easy for me to have lots of different characters with animations as opposed to having to trace thousands of images. And how hard and time consuming is it to mod...

Re: Eric: The Mysterious Stranger - RTS game(WIP)

You need motion capture for your skeleton. I have responded to this thread in the general section on this subject. The tool I was making was more for use on 2d platformer sprites. So are you thinking of making a 2d platformer game? Is the Viking example a pre made model or did you shape and clothe ...

Re: motion capture ?

Manually moving joints in blender isn't that hard. You can probably find motion tracking software on the web that can be used with blender if extremely realistic motion is necessary. For my RTS, I'm satisfied with simplistic animation that can be made with blender. The cheapest solution would be to...

Re: motion capture ?

... Blender works for me when doing 3d animation. As I understand it with Blender you have to change the positions of the limbs manually for animation unless you can use bone animations made by others as suggested by Joshy. You needed a set of animations taken from an isometric viewpoint. I saw the...

Re: motion capture ?

I did not know there was a library that added webcam support. It was the reason I changed from C to using FreeBASIC as at the time I was working on building a robot. There is a .dll you can get from, http://sol.gfxile.net/code.html And use it with, escapi.bi ' Extremely Simple Capture API Type Simp...

motion capture ?

The unit sprite is now a pre-rendered 3d model. I haven't been spending too much time on this RTS game recently because I had also had been working on a 2d skeletal animation program. Working on writing a 2d skeletal animation program or working on learning how to use one? If you are writing one wh...

Making a Scratch like IDE

As an exercise in programming I wondered how hard it would be to write a simple version of a Scratch like IDE in FreeBASIC. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/editor/?tip_bar=home The intention was to add the option of generating FreeBASIC source code from a Scratch like program as Flowgorithm can gen...

Re: Making FreeBasic appealing to a wider audience

The only "camps" I see is that we all fall into different interest groups who happen to be using the same computer language. FreeBASIC can be used as a simple BASIC language the way I use it or, as most others seem to use it, as an advanced programming language which allows the more knowle...
