Re: Currently inactive

Best decision the team had, years ago, was inviting dkl to join the project! For our luck he accepted to be part of the team :). FB was improved in so many ways... The project could be dead by now without his (and counting_pine) efforts in the last years. Thanks for keeping FB alive! I know how hard...

Re: Missing posts

I didn't notice the problem, nor I think the other site admins did, or we would have contacted Plasma to check what was wrong. If it happen again, you guys could contact any admin (me, dkl, counting_pine) by e-mail. Mine is v1ctor[at]users.sourceforge.net. I can't express how much Plasma was importa...

Re: unicode variable length string type?

Just a correction: the compiler can already parse Unicode files encoded in UTF-8 (with BOM), UTF-16 (BE/LE) and UFT-32 (BE/LE).

There are some examples at http://sourceforge.net/p/fbc/code/ci/master/tree/examples/unicode/

Re: Wetspot compiled to javascript

I added mouse control to Wetspot, and as Emscripten maps touch events to mouse events, it is somehow playable now in Android. It's not really possible to sleep() in JS. Emscripten has an experimental feature that will translate calls to its sleep() to anonymous function and a async call, but there a...

Jasc Soccer ported to javascript

Another FB game compiled with the Javascript port (work in progress). This time it's Jasc Soccer, by Pitto: http://freebasic.net/temp/js-JascSoccer/main.html Runs pretty well in Firefox and Edge. Not so good in Chrome (screen flickering) or IE 11 (never enter the match screen). Please test it and re...

Re: Wetspot compiled to javascript

Emscripten supports OpenGL ES (OpenGL for Embedded Systems). It's not too simple to port some OpenGL 1.x demos, though. It also has some emulation for unsupported GL 1.x functions, but it's too slow and unstable. I had to adapt Wetspot because the cooperative multitasking nature of javascript. Any i...

Re: Wetspot compiled to javascript

If you want to try the Emscripten port: 1. Download Emscripten and install it ( http://kripken.github.io/emscripten-site/docs/getting_started/downloads.html ) 2. Get the Emscripten branch from the FB repository and build the compiler as usual 3. Build the rtlib and the gfxlib2 with TARGET=asmjs-unkn...

Wetspot compiled to javascript

I'm porting FB to Emscripten (Emscript is a C/C++ to javascript compiler). There are many functions in the runtime and gfx libraries yet to port, but with some small changes, I was able to compile Wetspot 1 (hello Angelo!) to Javascript, making it playable from a browser. Please run it and report if...

Re: Demo

Long time not see a tunnel effect :) I took your last demo and compiled it to javascript using the work in progress Emscripten port. Take a look: http://freebasic.net/temp/js-tunnel/tunnel.html On the desktop (Windows 10), it runs great in Firefox and Edge, and OK in Chrome. IE 11 can also run it, b...

Re: Syntax highlighting looks terrible :-(

I'm without access to cpanel from work.

I'll try at home later, if no other admin is up to test the new highlighter.

Thanks!
